You Repeat

You Repeat

You’re searching for a grasp in my eyes
But I can no longer see through our disguise
I’m fresh out of contacts to deflect this demise.

The green has faded, and
My organs are apertures
the color is changing
there is no asylum for you
waiting in my orbs

I know what hurts you
Is that I don’t hurt
Need me to break,
But I won’t
Impossible to fill yourself with pieces of me
You have to raise and reinforce.

And we repeat
And we repeat
Don’t open your eyes
to the apperception of defeat
Don’t blind me
because my vision is clear
This isn’t healthy dear
And we repeat

You’re pondering the lines in my hands
My finger is not made for your band
I’m fresh out of gloves that your skin can stand

My lifeline and yours do not keep
My palms are not your books to read
They are missing pages
and cannot make your story complete

I know what hurts you
Is that I don’t hurt
Beg me to break,
But I won’t
Impossible to fill yourself with pieces of me
You have to augment and abound

And we repeat
And we repeat
Dont open your hands
to the apperception of defeat
Dont bind me
because my embrace is spare
This isn’t healthy dear
And you repeat

CAPRICORN [Dec 22 – Jan 19]

If there is any part of your past that you are clinging to and you know full well the gravity of it is keeping you down, this week that can all change. Mercury is making a culminating angle to Pluto, the planet of the Soul, in your sign on Friday, January 13, and it is offering you a brand new start. Thoughts about your personal history that are trying to find a way out may grind around in you until then. You can keep them locked up in there which will only create more ache or you can open that cage and set them free for good. Also Neptune and Venus grace you with their ever loving unconditional presence offering a love of another dimension as they reach out with conviction to your ruler Saturn to close the deal. They offer a healing of old traumas inviting an inner peace like you may have never known. By losing control, or surrendering to a certain final resolution, you will feel the weight of mountains lift from the center of your chest. Take the day on Friday or the weekend to honor this sacred rite of personal passage.
The universe is standing by, ready when you are, just say the word!

I’m sorry.

    The ending…I loved it.
The whole poem was like a song to me, words ringing out from everywhere. The repetition was especially effective.
    Beautifully written.

Thank you for your kind comment! This is probably one of the most organized poems I have ever written. I usually pay no attention to any “rules,” including rhyming, when I write. I also wrote this while listening to Charles Mingus and it was more song than poem for me I suppose.
